Purpose of Life

 Finding happiness within oneself

 

Happiness is a fleeting thing

That comes and goes like a bird on the wing

But true joy, like a wellspring deep

Is something that within us we can keep

 

We search for it in material things

Hoping they'll give us the joy that rings

But possessions and wealth will never suffice

To give us a life that's truly nice

 

For joy that's real and truly sweet

Comes from within, it's ours to meet

It's found in loving ourselves for who we are

And cherishing the things that make us unique, near or far

 

We must learn to embrace the things we love

And be at peace with what we're made of

For happiness is not outside of ourselves

It's a journey within that nobody else delves

 

We must be kind, compassionate, and true

To ourselves and others in all we do

And in this way, we'll find the joy we seek

Within ourselves, so strong and unique.
